Aperture

The aperture is the opening in the lens that controls the amount of light that is allowed to reach the image sensor. The aperture can be adjusted in almost every camera, with the exception of the most fundamental models. The aperture setting that is employed has a significant impact on both the exposure and the depth of field that may be achieved.
