Hanno Ketterer is a visual artist based in Amsterdam. He trained at the Fotoacademie Amsterdam. He began his photography studies in 2022. He works with photography, AI-generated imagery, drawing and printed matter. Before that, he spent 26 years in management consulting. His photobook The Art of Consulting (2024) is a documentary record of the consulting world from the inside.
His book Love Letters from the War was published by Kehrer Verlag in 2025. It is built from nearly a thousand letters that his grandfather Karl wrote to his grandmother Grete between 1943 and 1945. Karl was a German soldier in the Second World War. Ketterer combines the letters with historical photographs and new images that he generated and then reworked by hand. The book has 424 pages. It reproduces the letters at 1:1 scale, in German and English. It was a finalist for the PHotoESPAÑA 2026 Best Photography Book of the Year award.
