Ida Anderson

Ida Anderson is the pseudonym of Anna Komissarova, an artist and psychoanalytic psychotherapist from Russia.

She graduated from the UNIC Institute of Culture and the DocDocDoc School of Contemporary Photography. She also studied in workshops led by Kir Esadov and Polina Muzyka. She is the author of an educational course and publications on the psychoanalysis of contemporary art and photography.

Her series Blue Valentines is a set of cyanotype postcards about Moscow. The images show idyllic views of the city and scenes such as police barricades and a shuttered bar called Svoboda. She made the photographs from the start of the war until she left Moscow. She mailed the postcards to friends and colleagues who had moved abroad, in twelve countries.

It's Nice That featured the series in August 2025.
