JM Ramírez-Suassi is a self-taught Spanish photographer. He was born in 1970 in Mallorca and lives and works in Madrid. His work sits between portraiture and social landscape. He returns to the same places many times to see how they change from year to year.
His series One Eyed Ulysses (2018) and Fordlândia9 (2020) were followed by Malparaíso (Setanta Books, 2024, 160 pages). The book was photographed in Mexico and Chile. It has more than 100 images and no captions or text. Its title comes from a torn poster of Valparaíso that he found in a second-hand bookshop.
