K49814 is the pseudonym of an artist who works with black-and-white photography and ephemeral land art. The photographs and installations look at non-human animals as co-narrators of world history.
The project Fish Scale Garden was created on an uninhabited island in the Norwegian Sea. It is featured in the film Trillion, directed by Victor Kossakovsky.
K49814 has published two books with Kehrer Verlag: Atmen ohne Pause (2014) and Filamenta (2025). Filamenta brings together 213 black-and-white images made over seven years, using fish scales, swim bladders, nets and other remains of the fishing industry. The artist collected more than two and a half tonnes of fish scales in Europe for the project.
