Larson & Shindelman are Nate Larson and Marni Shindelman. They are an American duo who have worked together since 2007. Their practice looks at the data trails left by networked communication and ties them to real places.
In their project Geolocation (2009-2016), they used GPS information in public tweets to find where posts were sent. They then photographed those places. Their work has been shown at the George Eastman Museum in Rochester and the Denver Art Museum. It has been covered by WIRED, NPR and The New York Times.
Their book #Gratitude #Благодарность is self-published and has 204 pages. It follows tweets with hashtags such as #ThanksObama and #ThanksPutinForThis to places in Russia and the United States. They photographed over 60 sites. The book was designed by Ania Nałęcka-Milach.
