Markus Kirchhofer is a photographer from Cologne, Germany. He focuses on portrait and documentary photography. After playing music for many years, he moved into photography. His workflow is deliberately analog. He says he chooses analog photography for its patience and poetry.
His book Vintage Speed is a self-published hardcover with 104 pages and 78 analog photographs. For his photographs of the pre-war section of the Nürburgring Classics, he used a Leica M6 loaded with Kodak Tri-X 400 and developed the film in Rodinal. He received honorable mentions at the Paris International Street Photography Awards in 2022 and 2023. His work was also chosen for the Leica Selection in Leica Fotografie International.
