Michael Behlen is a photographer, curator and publisher. Since 2018 he has been founder and publisher of Analog Forever Magazine.
His Polaroid photographs have appeared in Diffusion Magazine, Fraction Magazine, Seities Magazine and Polaroid Now (Chronicle Books, 2021). He has self-published two Polaroid photobooks, Searching for Stillness, Vol. 1 and I Was a Pioneer. His book Searching for Stillness Vol. II was published by Static Age in 2020.
His series Where the Water Waits is a three-year study of Millerton Lake in California's Central Valley. He made all the photographs during storms, on Polaroid Reclaimed Blue film. The marks and chemical flaws of the film became part of the pictures. The series was planned as a self-published zine in July 2026.
