Schiffer Publishing is a book publisher in Atglen, Pennsylvania. Peter and Nancy Schiffer started it in 1974 to mimeograph and distribute a study of Chester County inventories by Peter's mother, Margaret Schiffer, and to bring out-of-print books about antiques back into circulation. For its first years it was run from their home and a farm in West Chester. In 1992 it moved into a new facility in Atglen, where it still operates. Today it publishes through several imprints. The main Schiffer imprint covers general nonfiction on art, design, architecture, pop culture, music and photography. Other imprints cover crafts, military history, children's books and mind, body and spirit.
