Simon & Schuster is one of the major American publishing houses, founded in New York in 1924 by Richard L. Simon and M. Lincoln Schuster. Over the decades, it has built a strong reputation for publishing bestselling and award-winning fiction, nonfiction, and children’s books, and it remains one of the best-known names in trade publishing.  

The company publishes across a wide range of categories through numerous imprints and has long played an important role in the American and international book market. Originally part of larger media corporations for many years, Simon & Schuster was acquired by KKR from Paramount Global in 2023 in a $1.62 billion deal.  

Today, Simon & Schuster continues to publish a broad list of literary, commercial, and illustrated works while expanding its international reach. In 2024, it further strengthened that global presence through the acquisition of Dutch publishing group Veen Bosch & Keuning. (Website)
