Lines inside a photograph that guide the viewer's eye toward the main subject or deeper into the picture. Roads, rivers, fences, railway tracks and the edges of buildings often work as leading lines.
Lines that run from a corner of the frame toward the center create a strong feeling of depth. Curved lines feel softer and slower than straight ones. See also composition.
