Reflector

A surface that bounces light back onto the subject, usually to fill in shadows. Reflectors are often round, foldable panels in white, silver or gold, but a white wall or a piece of card also works.

White gives soft, neutral light, silver gives brighter and harder light, and gold gives warm light. See also fill light.
