Sheet film

Film supplied as single flat sheets instead of rolls. It is used in large-format cameras, such as 4x5 inch and 8x10 inch view cameras. Each sheet makes one photograph. The photographer loads the sheets into holders in the dark, and each holder usually takes two sheets. Sheet film is sold in boxes, often of 10, 25 or 50 sheets. Its large size gives very fine detail.
