Inbal Abergil

Inbal Abergil is a New York-based documentary photographer and educator originally from Jerusalem, of North African descent. Her work focuses on how war, grief, and memory shape human life long after the fighting ends. She spent a decade making work about loss, absence, and recovery, and her photographs have been shown internationally in museums and galleries. Abergil has received major awards including the Pollock-Krasner Grant and the Documentary Essay Prize in Photography at Duke University, and her earlier series was nominated for the prestigious Prix Pictet. Her work is held in public collections such as the National Gallery of Art and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. She holds an MFA from Columbia University and teaches photography at Pace University in New York City. (Website)
