Mark McGuire

Mark McGuire is a street photographer based in Dunedin, New Zealand. Born in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, in 1956, he holds degrees in Architecture and Fine Art, an MA in Information Science, and a PhD in Media Studies. He ran a small design company in Toronto for ten years before moving to Dunedin in 1993.

McGuire worked as a design academic at the University of Otago for twenty-five years, leaving in 2018. Since then, he has become more active in photography. He publishes a weekly Substack newsletter about his street photography, sharing photographs and reflections on his practice. (Website, Instagra)
