Nicole Tung
Nicole Tung is a freelance photojournalist from Hong Kong who covers social and conflict-related issues in the Middle East, Asia, and Africa. She graduated from New York University with a double major in history and journalism, and has reported extensively on conflicts in Libya and Syria, the pro-democracy protests in Hong Kong, the aftermath of ISIS in Iraq and Syria, the war in Ukraine, and the 2023 earthquakes in Turkey and Syria. In 2025, she was part of The New York Times team named Pulitzer finalists for Breaking News Photography, and she is also a recipient of the Philip Jones Griffiths Award. She is based in Istanbul.
