Benita Suchodrev is a photographer born in Tbilisi, Georgia, and based in Berlin. Raised in the United States, she studied Liberal Arts with a focus on Art History at SUNY Purchase in New York before completing a Master of Arts in English Literature with high honors. After moving to Berlin in 2008, she began documenting the city’s many-sided art scene while working on portrait and documentary projects. She is a member of the photographers’ agency FOCUS.

Her books with Kehrer Verlag are 48 Hours Blackpool (2018), Of Lions and Lambs (2019), and Find Me Paradise (2026). Find Me Paradise brings together almost 300 black-and-white and duotone photographs from more than two decades. The book grew from pairing images that had no clear connection in subject, place, or time, and from sequencing them by feeling rather than chronology.

Her work has been exhibited internationally and is held in public and private collections, including the Michael Horbach Foundation in Cologne, the Freundeskreis Willy-Brandt-Haus in Berlin, and the Rafael Tous Foundation for Contemporary Art in Barcelona. Working intuitively, she is drawn to human expression, vulnerability, ambiguity, and the brief transitional moments between what has passed and what is about to happen.
