Massimo Lupidi is a self-taught photographer based in Italy who works in landscape, fine art and aerial photography. He has more than 30 years of experience. He was a painter before he became a photographer, and his background in painting still shapes his pictures. He photographs from the ground and from the air, from ultralight aircraft, helicopters and paragliders.

In 1992 he was among the winners of the United Nations "Focus on Your World" competition at the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro. His work has appeared in National Geographic, HarperCollins publications and for the Iceland Tourist Board, among others. His books are Iceland, Visions of Earth (Sassi Editore, September 2017, 127 pages, 87 colour plates) and Cinque Terre tra cielo e mare (Sagep Editori, April 2026, 128 pages, 89 colour plates), which pairs his photographs with the poetry of Eugenio Montale. He worked on the Cinque Terre project for several years, including the pandemic years when the area was almost empty.
