Wendy Ploger

Wendy Ploger is a photographer and visual artist whose work blends image and writing with honesty, emotion, and wit. After more than 15 years as a graphic artist, she moved into photography to connect more directly with people and her own experiences. Her projects explore desire, identity, loss, and self-discovery through long-term engagement with subject matter and personal narrative. Her first book, Thank You for Ruining My Birthday, grew out of years of diary writing and was edited down to forge a raw and intimate story of heartbreak, dating, and reinvention in New York City. Originally from California, she splits her time between Tucson, Arizona, and New York City. (Website, Instagram)
