A projector used in a traditional darkroom to make prints from negatives. The negative is placed in a holder called a carrier. A lamp in the enlarger head shines light through the negative and a lens, which projects the image onto photographic paper on the baseboard. Raising or lowering the head changes the size of the print. After the exposure, the paper is processed in developer, stop bath and fixer, then washed and dried.
