Infrared photography

Photography that records infrared light, which is just beyond the red end of what the human eye can see. Special film, a converted digital camera or a filter that blocks visible light is needed.

In black and white infrared, green leaves look white and blue skies turn almost black. Kodak Aerochrome, a color infrared film, gives false colors, with plants appearing red or pink. Infrared is also used in science, medicine and aerial survey.
