A camera that produces a finished print within minutes of taking the picture. The exposure itself takes only a fraction of a second. The camera then pushes out the film, and chemicals inside the film unit develop the image by themselves.
Edwin Land's company Polaroid sold the first instant camera in 1948. Today Polaroid and Fujifilm (Instax) are the best-known makers of instant cameras and film.
