About Dust Collective
Founded in 2017 by Emily Sheffer, Dust Collective is a boutique publisher dedicated to small-edition, handmade photography books. Each publication is conceived as an artwork in itself, where design, paper, format, and tactile qualities are as integral as the images. The press works closely with artists at every stage of production, from editing and sequencing to design and printing, to ensure that each book reflects and expands the photographer’s vision.
With an emphasis on sustainability, editions are intentionally small, materials are carefully chosen, and nothing is wasted. Dust Collective’s books have been acquired by major institutions, including the New York Public Library, International Center of Photography, Harvard Fine Arts Library, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
Often exploring themes such as time, weather, nature, space, and the materiality of photography, Dust Collective approaches the photobook as a site for experimentation, intimacy, and resonance. (Website, Instagram)
