It took 26 attempts and countless hours of developing and printing the film, all while drying off the cats, to achieve the perfect shot. The final image is a composite, with Dalí painting on the picture to complete the surreal scene.
The Dynamite Duck Proposal: Adding to the intrigue of this captivating story is a rumor that before settling on the concept of flying cats, Salvador Dalí suggested an even more outrageous idea: blowing up a duck with dynamite.
