Chihiro Kihara 木原千裕

Photographer. Born in 1985 in Fukuoka Prefecture. Graduated from the Department of Educational and Cultural Studies, Faculty of Sociology, Doshisha University. During university, obtained a used film camera and became absorbed in photography. Although she majored in education intending to become a teacher, after graduation she pursued photography through self-study.

She creates works that reevaluate the relationship between herself, others, and the world, starting from questions arising from her own experiences. Winner of the 1st Fugen-sha Photography Award Grand Prix (2021) and the 23rd “1_WALL” Photography Grand Prix. Recipient of the Special Award at the 2018 Shiogama Photo Festival Photo Award.
