Chihiro Kihara 木原千裕

Chihiro Kihara, a photographer from Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan, graduated from Doshisha University’s Faculty of Sociology. During her university years, she became captivated by photography after acquiring a used film camera. Despite majoring in education, she pursued photography self-studying after graduation.

Kihara’s work explores the relationship between herself, others, and the world, drawing inspiration from her personal experiences. She has received several awards, including the 1st Fugen-sha Photography Award Grand Prix (2021), the 23rd “1_WALL” Photography Grand Prix, and the Special Award at the 2018 Shiogama Photo Festival Photo Award.

Her photo books include Fushigi (Fugen-sha, 2025) and Ikutsuka Aru Hikari no (Fugen-sha, 2022). (Instagram)
