Bird's-eye view

A view from high above the subject, looking down. It can be taken from a building, a ladder, a drone or an aircraft.

A bird's-eye view flattens the scene and turns it into patterns and shapes. It can make people look small. Aerial photographers such as Yann Arthus-Bertrand and George Steinmetz use it to show the shape of the land. The opposite is the worm's-eye view.
