A group of American photographers founded in 1902 in New York by Alfred Stieglitz. Its goal was to have photography accepted as a fine art.
Members included Edward Steichen, Gertrude Käsebier and Clarence H. White. The group published the magazine Camera Work (1903 to 1917) and showed work at the Little Galleries of the Photo-Secession, known as 291. Most early members worked in the Pictorialist style.
