An American company and brand known for instant cameras and film. Founder Edwin Land introduced the first instant camera, the Model 95, in 1948.
The SX-70 (1972) produced self-developing color prints that came out of the camera. Many artists used Polaroids, including Walker Evans in his last years and Andy Warhol. After the original company stopped making instant film, the Impossible Project restarted production in 2010. The Impossible Project was renamed Polaroid Originals in 2017 and simply Polaroid in 2020.
