Carol Allen-Storey

Carol Allen-Storey is an award-winning documentary photographer from New York, now based in London. Her work focuses on complex humanitarian and social issues, particularly the experiences of women, children, and communities affected by conflict, poverty, disease, displacement, and disability. In 2009, she was appointed a UNICEF ambassador for photography.

She graduated with distinction from the Master Photography programme at Central Saint Martins and has worked with organisations including UNICEF, Save the Children, Comic Relief, International Alert, and the Elton John AIDS Foundation. Her photography is built on long-term relationships, collaboration, and respect for the people whose lives she documents.

Allen-Storey’s work has been exhibited internationally and recognised with numerous awards. Her long-term project Defying the Myth received Gold in the project category at the Association of Photographers Awards in 2024. (Website, Instagram, Facebook)
