Christophe Jacrot
Christophe Jacrot is a contemporary French photographer celebrated for his atmospheric images of cityscapes and landscapes under rain, snow and winter light. He began his creative career in cinema, directing several award-winning short films, before turning fully to photography.
Jacrot’s distinctive vision arose unexpectedly when a commission to shoot sunny Parisities led him instead into stormy weather. That moment sparked a sustained artistic project exploring “bad weather” as a rich visual world in its own right.
His published books, including the award-recognised Paris sous la pluie, Météores, Snjór, and now Winterland – The Colors of Snow, trace his evolution from urban rain to icy wilderness.
Jacrot lives and works in Paris, and his photographs have been shown internationally. His mission: to reveal the quiet drama of nature and city alike by embracing the weather many try to avoid. (Website, Instagram)
