Greg Girard

Greg Girard is a Canadian photographer born in 1955 who has spent much of his career working in Asia. For more than four decades, his photographs have examined the social and physical changes shaping cities across the region. His books include City of Darkness Revisited, Phantom Shanghai, Under Vancouver 1972–1982, HK. Hong Kong Night Life 1974–1989, Hotel Okinawa, Hanoi Calling, and In the Near Distance. His work is held in collections including the National Gallery of Canada, the Art Gallery of Ontario, Vancouver Art Gallery, and M+ in Hong Kong, and has appeared in publications such as National Geographic, The New York Times Magazine, Time, Fortune, and The Sunday Times Magazine.
