Jeff Rothstein

Jeff Rothstein is a Brooklyn-born street photographer who has been documenting New York City since the early 1970s. His work has appeared in Black & White magazine, SHOTS, the London Evening Standard, and numerous other publications. His photobook "Today's Special: New York City Images 1969-2006" was published in 2017 and is held in university and institutional libraries. Rothstein's vintage photographs have won awards from Black & White magazine contests from 2019 to 2025, and his project "Gotham Memories: New York City Images of the 1970s and 1980s" won the Urban Photo Awards 2021 exhibition prize. His work has been exhibited internationally, including recent shows in Greece, Japan, Hungary, and the UAE. He continues to photograph New York City as what he calls an "urban observer," capturing fleeting moments before they disappear. (Website, Instagram, Facebook)
