Jessica Hays
Jessica Hays is a conceptual photographer, alternative process printmaker, and artist based in Montana and Chicago. Her work draws from personal experience to explore wider human subjects such as mental health, trauma, environmental change, loneliness, and the connection between people and place. Grounded in the American West, she often works with pigment printing, handmade artist books, video, and historic or experimental photographic processes.
Hays earned an MFA in Photography from Columbia College Chicago, and BA degrees in Film and Photography and Environmental Studies from Montana State University. Her work has been exhibited internationally, published in magazines and textbooks, and is held in public and private collections in the United States and Canada. She was also recognized as a Critical Mass Finalist and shortlisted for the BarTur Environmental Award. (Website, Instagram, LikedIn)
