John Volynchook
John Volynchook is a British photographer based in the UK, with a background in biological sciences, social work and photographic arts. Born in Liverpool, he holds an MFA in Photographic Arts from the University of Plymouth, a Master’s in Social Work from the University of York and a Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology and Biochemistry from the University of Reading. His practice is shaped by a long-standing concern for land, memory, and social justice, often combining slow, immersive travel with a deep sensitivity to place. A Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a member of the Royal Photographic Society, Volynchook’s work bridges documentary and poetic modes, grounded in lived experience and ethical reflection.
