Joshua Lutz
Joshua Lutz is an American photographer known for his deeply introspective and socially engaged work. His projects blend documentary and conceptual approaches, often exploring themes of mental health, economic decline, and the tension between personal and collective narratives.
Lutz’s monographs have received critical acclaim, with Mind The Gap and Hesitating Beauty named among the Best Art Books by Time Magazine, PhotoEye, and Photo District News (PDN). His work has been exhibited internationally, with solo shows at ClampArt (New York), Koch Gallery (San Francisco), Blue Sky Gallery (Portland), and Robert Morat (Berlin and Hamburg).
Beyond his photography, Lutz is also a dedicated educator. He has taught at Bard College, the International Center of Photography, and Pratt Institute.
