Kathya Maria Landeros
Kathya Maria Landeros is a Mexican-American photographer and educator whose work over the past two decades explores Latinx communities, history, migration, representation, and belonging. Her long-term projects are shaped by her bi-cultural upbringing and sustained engagement with the people and places she photographs. Landeros’s research has been supported by fellowships from the John Simon Guggenheim Foundation and Fulbright, and residencies at the Anderson Ranch Arts Center, Rayko Photo Center, the Center for Photography at Woodstock, and Kala Art Institute. Her photographs have been exhibited nationally and are held in both public and private collections. Before joining the faculty at Wellesley College in Massachusetts, she taught at institutions of higher education in northern California and Massachusetts. Landeros holds a graduate degree in photography from Massachusetts College of Art and Design and a dual undergraduate degree in English literature and Hispanic studies from Vassar College.
