Keizo Motoda
Keizo Motoda is a Japanese photographer born in Osaka in 1971. He studied economics at Momoyama Gakuin University before graduating from the Department of Photography at Visual Arts Osaka Professional Creative School in 1997. Motoda is known for his street photography and for his long-term interest in the people he meets in public spaces. In 1996, he began the newspaper column ON THE STREET for Osaka Shimbun, combining photographs and short texts about people he encountered on the streets. This became an important foundation for the personal and direct style of his later work.
Motoda has held many solo exhibitions in Japan, including ON THE STREET, OSAKA, SNAP OSAKA, GOIKEN-MUYO, and Keizo Motoda Photo Exhibition. His work has also been shown internationally, including in China, Germany, Spain, France, and the United States. His publications include Blue Water, SNAP OSAKA, STREET PHOTOGRAPHS, MOTODABLACK, Capella, Sunday Harajuku, Don’t try, TODOROKI, and Short Hope. (Instagram)
