Michael Rababy

Michael Rababy is a documentary photographer based in California, known for capturing authentic perspectives on American society and culture. He studied art history at the University of San Diego and deepened his photographic vision during his time in Paris, influenced by artists such as Henri Toulouse-Lautrec and Henri Cartier-Bresson.

Rababy’s work often explores subcultures and cultural contradictions within American life. His notable projects include american bachelor, a reflection on life in his twenties, Folsom Street Food Court, documenting San Francisco’s famous street fair, and his latest book, Casinoland – Tired of Winning, which offers a powerful look into the realities of American gambling culture over three decades.

His photography has been showcased widely through exhibitions he curated in Los Angeles and has appeared in various TV series and publications. Rababy also has a background in commercial photography, working with high-profile clients such as Mercedes-Benz, and was the official photographer for popular TV series including LA Ink.
