Sibylle Fendt
Sibylle Fendt is a German photographer based in Berlin. She was born in Karlsruhe in 1974 and studied photography at the University of Applied Sciences in Bielefeld, followed by further study with Wolfgang Tillmans in Frankfurt. Since 2002 she has worked independently, producing long-term documentary and portrait projects that explore subjects such as social exclusion, psychological and social crises, and everyday life with deep human attention. Her work has been exhibited internationally and received numerous awards, and she teaches photography at universities in Germany, including the Ostkreuzschule in Berlin. Fendt is a member of the Ostkreuz photographers’ agency and is known for work that combines respect, trust, and careful presence in both editorial and personal photographic projects.
