Bieke Depoorter

Bieke Depoorter is a Belgian photographer renowned for her intimate and collaborative approach to image-making. She earned a master’s degree in photography from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Ghent in 2009. At the age of 25, she was nominated to join Magnum Photos and became a full member in 2016.

Depoorter’s work often begins with chance encounters, leading to deep explorations of personal narratives and the boundaries between reality and fiction. Her notable projects include Ou Menya, I Am About to Call It a Day, As It May Be, Sète#15, and A.
