Juan Carlo Calingo
Juan Carlo Calingo is a New York City-based photographer originally from the Philippines.
He started taking photos in the streets of New York City as a hobby. He found his passion for black and white photography capturing everyday urban life. His work is inspired by film noir emphasizing shadows and harsh lighting in his compositions. He finds joy in wandering the city capturing unique scenes and subjects shaped by light and shadows. Although monochrome is his preferred medium and accounts for majority of his work, he is currently expanding his photography repertoire with color photography.
